Jose Trillanes

With over a decade of experience in both digital and traditional art in the Animation industry and Academic sphere, I have contributed to popular TV shows like Firebuds, Young Jedi Adventures, The Little Mermaid, and Rocket Club. I have also worked on successful films such as Prey, The Little Mermaid, and The Princess, earning recognition for my Visual Effects work. Known for my adaptability and dedication to excellence, I bring a diverse perspective to my work through my bicultural background and fluency in English and Spanish, enriching my artistic vision.

Jose Trillanes – Digital Artist

I have over five years of on-campus and online Academic Expertise, coaching students to understand animation concepts and techniques, and to develop animation projects using 2D animation, 3D modeling, digital painting & sculpting, digital compositing, and visual effects (VFX). On top of teaching practice, I actively participated developing and enhancing Animation programs curriculums. As well as, organizing global events centered around Animation and Gaming, facilitating connections between prominent industry figures and the academic sector. My contributions to the academic community included fostering valuable partnerships and networks, bridging the gap between scholarly efforts and practical industry applications. At the same time, I was a member of UDEM’s first ever Honor Council.

My unique background enriches the quality of projects (freelance or employer sponsored), final media products, and services, as well as the overall team dynamic. I am direct engage with people, combined with my adept of management, coaching, and guidance of ideas, consistently elevates the output of my pursuits. Leveraging my bicultural competence allows me to bring a distinct perspective to my work and fosters collaborative excellence within any diverse environment.

Recently, I played a crucial role as a Technical Animator in two prominent Canadian studios, namely ICON Creative Studios and Mr. X/MPC, contributing to the production of popular Family TV shows for Disney and VFX notable movies. Additionally, I have participated as VFX Artist in the gaming industry, specializing in configuring cloth simulations for dynamic cinematic objects. This experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the intricacies of the entertainment and film industry, and the demands of top-tier projects.

Event Coordinator Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) Global Game Jam 2015, 2016 and 2017

Here are some of the images captured from the Global Game Jam event that took place at UDEM, MX during my tenure as an organizer and liaison with local gaming companies. This event promoted student creativity and encouraged them to create a video game within a 48-hour time frame. Throughout the event, students with diverse technical and artistic skills shared experiences and expressed their ideas through video game development. Participants had the opportunity to explore the entire process of game construction
